This project is based around the design analysis of the tulip toaster. For this project we worked in a group sectioning parts of the assignment to various group members. The group consisted of Sergej Kuckir, Hayley Powell, Katherine Whiting, Minas Patsalos and Varun Gujral.
Together, as a group, we looked into the design of the tulip toaster and studied in detail all the elements that are required to be able to manufacture the toaster, starting from the ergonomics and aesthetics right down to the manufacturing processes and material selection.
Alongside the research we created the toaster in CAD for visualisations and understanding the concept design in a 3-D perspective. Furthermore, we created a model of the inner fittings that would be concealed within the toaster making the separate moulded parts fit together.
For the presentation aspect of the project, our group decided to create this website as it is a more professional way to portray our designs and visualisation as this website encloses all the information required about the Tulip toaster. Our research report and images are also uploaded on the website to show how we made our decisions throughout the project based on out research.
